American Diabetes Association Selects Inquisite for Continuous Online Survey Initiatives
AUSTIN, TEXAS - May 28, 2003 - Inquisite, a provider of web survey technology, today announced that the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy, has selected the company's enterprise-class web survey system for its ongoing survey initiatives.
Founded in 1940, the ADA conducts programs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, reaching hundreds of communities. The association funds research, publishes scientific findings, provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, donors, health care professionals and the public. The organization also advocates for scientific research and for the rights of people with diabetes. More than 17 million people in the United States-or 6.2 percent of the population-have diabetes, the nation's fifth deadliest disease.
The ADA will begin using Inquisite 5, the latest in the Inquisite family of web survey tools, to collect feedback from its diverse constituent groups, said Marty Moore, the association's director of strategic marketing. Prior to choosing Inquisite, the organization relied on paper surveys, which were inefficient and took weeks to retrieve and manually input data. Inquisite will enable the ADA to administer surveys and collect and analyze responses in real time, he said.
Moore said the association was looking for an online survey solution that was easy to use, yet highly scalable, reliable, rapid to deploy and could deliver sophisticated data analysis. "Using traditional paper surveys, it often took weeks after deployment to begin receiving responses. Using Inquisite, we anticipate that we'll begin to receive feedback within 48 to 72 hours," he said. "This rapid turnaround will enable the ADA to be even more responsive as it measures the attitudes, values and beliefs of our diverse constituent groups spread across the nation."
Until the advent of online survey tools like Inquisite, measuring customer attitudes, opinions and satisfaction was typically an expensive, technically demanding and slow process, and was usually conducted annually or on an ad hoc basis. As today's enterprises continue to move to the online environment, web survey tools are helping firms simplify the data-collection process by putting it into the hands of end-users who can continuously integrate information about customer attitudes into their ongoing business processes.
Inquisite 5 is available as a hosted ASP solution or as a product directly installed on a server. Survey administrators can perform a range of management functions, including activating and deactivating surveys, setting response limits and cut-off dates, purging surveys, viewing reports and publishing results on the web. The Inquisite server software supports Windows NT and Windows 2000 servers. Inquisite's Survey Builder software supports Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT and all versions of Windows XP.
