Inquisite Client Uses Survey Product to Drive Corporate Performance

On September 30, Inquisite sponsored an HR.com webinar How to Build a Resilient Team in 30 Days, featuring Inquisite client Dr. Anna Rowley, corporate psychologist, author and founder of Rowley Associates. The webinar focused on data gathering, direction setting, and connection building as a means to building the highest performing team in the shortest amount of time.

Dr. Rowley is the creator of the Leadership Therapy process, a leadership consultant to Microsoft Corp. for more than 14 years and the author of, "Leadership Therapy: Inside the Mind of Microsoft." During the webinar, Dr. Rowley shared techniques for helping individuals, teams, and organizations maintain and leverage what she terms "protective factors," reduce risk factors, and identify and overcome obstacles to success – all the while employing data-driven decision making as a result of team diagnostics and surveys.

Dr. Rowley uses Inquisite Survey to develop proprietary diagnostic tools to gather data to guide each phase of Leadership Therapy: measurement, direction setting, relationship building, and reaching out. To begin, she measures the capabilities of the team with which she's working, collecting incontrovertible data points, which she presents to company executives when securing leadership buy-in. Through the next two phases of the program – direction setting and relationship building – the organization's vision and mission are examined, as well as the team members' belief in what they do. Furthermore, the team members' trust in one another and ability to handle conflict are looked at closely in these phases. The final phase, reaching out, takes a different approach to collecting feedback, using semantic differential, rating scale and free text questions.

Central to the process is data, and Dr. Rowley highlighted the importance of having the right tools to make data-driven decisions. According to Dr. Rowley, "We wanted the maximum flexibility in how we collect data and the content of the surveys we use. The thing we liked about Inquisite is that it's flexible in terms of question types. Inquisite's reporting helps us summarize the data then roll it out to the client. Those attributes singled Inquisite out from a number of other vendors that offer so-called online survey methodology."

Using technology, such as Inquisite Survey, to diagnose and measure team culture and effectiveness can facilitate the speed with which organizations can achieve the highest possible performance in the shortest amount of time.
