New Survey Features Support Section 508 Compliance

Survey accessibility for the visually impaired is required for many Inquisite customers in the public and non-profit sector, and those that work with public and non-profit organizations. In accordance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, we have included new features in Survey System 9 that support Section 508 compliance.

To access surveys, visually impaired respondents rely on a voice reader to translate survey questions. Inquisite is helping customers reach these respondents through several product feature enhancements. The Survey Administrator can take advantage of the new compliance settings through an "accessibility properties" dialog in the survey builder. It is important to note that these settings are optional because they restrict some of the product's advanced features, such as the ability to place question text anywhere on the page relative to the answer choices, question text wrapping, and overlapping question objects.
